Zaia raises the alarm: "Centre-right in Veneto in the dark. One of my lists could reach 40-45%"

The center-right in Veneto is "in a dark room," says the Northern League governor Luca Zaia . And the negotiations to identify the candidate for the presidency of the Region are navigating "very murky waters."
Zaia raises the alarm. For the first time since his re-candidacy ended with the failure of negotiations for a third term , the member of the Northern League is clear in describing a stalemate that is causing concern in “his” League, which has reached the point of collecting signatures in the sections in support of a “solitary” race without allies or in any case in favor of a “Zaia list”.
"We are all looking for the switch", to get out of the darkness, "we will try to understand who finds the switch", says the doge, who, while professing respect for "hierarchies and liturgies", speaks with a certain detachment of the national majority table to which decisions on candidacies are delegated. In Roncade, in the province of Treviso, for the laying of the first stone of the works to eliminate a level crossing on the Venice Mestre-Trieste railway line, the governor does not exclude, therefore, any possibility: neither the hypothesis of a list in his name, in support of another candidate, which would be worth "40-45%" according to "the latest statistics", nor that of a race of the Liga Veneta against the government allies, FdI and FI. "The Zaia list? I am embarrassed to talk about my list, given that I have never used it as a political tool, but as a tool of adhesion and respect towards those who perhaps always wanted to support me but did not vote for the centre-right. Therefore, respect is needed for everyone. After that, the data speaks for itself - repeats the Veneto governor - the latest statistics that came out say that a list like mine can reach 40-45%".
It's a shame that FdI's allies have so far ruled out this hypothesis, supporting the green light for civic lists tied solely to the presidential candidate. And on the idea of founding another party, Zaia responds: "I think it's not worth it at this stage to add new fuel to the fire. There's a lot of debate. Let's hope they're quick to give the macro indications and then everyone will understand whether, with respect to the indications that will come from the table, they are sustainable or unsustainable. This can also happen".
Finally, regarding the deadline to present the candidate, he is more optimistic: "It depends on when you vote, because, if you vote on November 23, the name is fine even in September".
